Chen Li Wei（陈莉薇）

Li Wei Chen, born in the city of Kunming in Yunnan province, south west of China, a culturally diverse province that has 25 different nationalities as well as Han Chinese.

I was born to a middle class family, my dad was a Chinese teacher and my mum was an accountant. My dad is a very strict dad like any other dad in China. I still remember, me and my brother always practice Chinese calligraphy when we were little. We were always asking: Why we have to practice when other kids playing games? But my dad always said: You will know when you grow up. That is how I started my calligraphy. When I was at primary school, my favourite subject was always painting , and I eventually went to University and got my degree in art and design.

I was creating art workshops and teaching Chinese painting for a while before I came to England, now I have my Chinese painting and calligraphy class at Indigo cafe art Studios, and a class at Multicutural center Birkenhead.

I had my calligraphy and Chinese painting been chosen for a exhibition at Williamson art gallery at 2014. I had many Chinese cultual event and work shops between Wirral and Liverpool, it was primary schools, high schools, town halls ...

Zhang Wei Yu（张蔚宇）

Zhang Wei Yu, contemporary master of Chinese painting artist and Kunming university teacher. She has published an album of her art work. She has many times won award for young generations Chinese painting master .

Chen Si Han（陈思汉）

Chen Si Han, 8 year old student who is talented at art. He has been studying Chinese painting and Calligraphy since he was 5. His work is free hand brush painting.

Chen Zi Dan（陈子丹）

Chen Zi Dan, 5 year old sudent, started his Chinese Painting and Calligraphy lessons a few months ago, but also talented.

Yu Lukui (俞旅葵）

China Academy of Art teacher. Her specialist is mineral pigment painting, and she has got her style of landscape and figurative projects.

Chen LI (陈里）

He is a master woodblock printmaker and painter whose work is collected by The British Museum as an exceptional example of Modern Chinese art. After a turbulent youth he goes deep inside himself to find the peace, lightness and joy that permeate his works. “I paint what I feel in my heart. For this I have to face my past, both successes and failures."Chen Li defines his practice as a constant transformation. His trademark flying strokes, the originality and dynamism of his compositions, and the brilliant interplay of colours and textures that find a harmony in both movement and stillness - all of these echo the freedom of his thoughts.
Always marching to the tune of his own drum, he is inspired by the spectacular landscapes and the Buddhist philosophy of China’s southwestern Yunnan Province where he lives and works. Stylistically, he is equally inspired by the works of Bruegel and de Kooning as of Guan Xiu and Zhao Wu-ji, weaving East and West into an original and harmonious visual language.
“Chinese art and Western art have different views about reality. But when I paint, I ignore both man-made and natural rules to create living artistic images. I paint to finish my idea, my hope.”
For his woodblock prints, Chen Li works in a rare jueban or “waste-block” technique. Historians are not sure where the technique originated, but it was perfected in Yunnan. Unlike Japanese woodblock printing where a different woodblock is used for each colour, here all colours are printed off a single woodblock, each step carving over the previous one until the woodblock itself is destroyed. The technique leaves no room for error and only a single limited edition can ever be printed because the process cannot be repeated. In addition, the resulting prints have a painting-like texture because the method calls for thick, oil-based inks.
Chen Li (b. 1971, Yunnan Province, China), is widely exhibited and collected internationally, with woodblock prints in the permanent collection of The British Museum and the Clifford Chance Print Collection.

Wang Xiongfei(王雄飞)

1988年毕业于中国美术学院，1990年赴日本多摩大学日本画专业深造。现为中国美术学院岩彩画研究所所长，研究生导师。
